Gloucester City Marathon
The Gloucester City Marathon, claiming to be ‘Britain’s most scenic City Marathon on closed roads’ certainly takes in the sites of this fine city. Starting at 9am in Gloucester Park the route takes runners through the centre, passing the magnificent cathedral, and taking in the Jet Age Museum, Hardwicke and Apperley, and a stretch along the River Severn. With this much distraction you might not even notice the 26.2miles of effort. Maybe…
Team relays of 2-4 runners can also take part and there are options for corporate teams too. Medal, finisher’s t-shirt, goody bags and the usual suspects are all on offer on what looks to be a relatively flat and fast course.
Entry fees for the Gloucester City Marathon are £48 affiliated and £50 unaffiliated with a partnership with charity Young Gloucestershire reaping some of those rewards. Full details and online entry at gloucestercitymarathon.com
