The Midnight Marathon
After a successful test running in 2015 the Midnight Marathon returns for a second year. Based out of Dartford, Kent, the Midnight Marathon is an 8-lap 26.2miler, which takes place mostly on pavement apart from one marshalled road that will be crossed with each lap.
With registration opening at 5pm and briefing at 7.30pm, the Midnight Marathon itself kicks off at 8pm with those making it home by midnight receiving a special finishers’ top. Panic not though, midnight isn’t the cut-off (last person home in 2015 crossed the line at 3.30am) and all finishers get a medal and technical t-shirt.
There are 2 water stations on each lap, the main one at the finish will have water, High5 energy drinks, gels, jelly babies and crisps; the secondary CP will have water and High5 gels only.
Multi-laps certainly aren’t for everyone, but the Midnight Marathon garnered much positive feedback in its inaugural year that this might just be the one to try. Entry fees: £38.40 affiliated, £40.60 unaffiliated. Full details of the Midnight Marathon at bridgetriathlon.co.uk
