Stoke-on-Trent’s Potteries Marathon is not the easiest marathon, say the organisers, but certainly: ‘…one of the most satisfying and enjoyable ones.’ Starting and finishing at the premiership club Stoke City’s ground, The Britannia Stadium, the race is a single loop with regular drinks stations, mile markers and chip timing.
With a capacity of 2,000 runners the race village will be located close to the start / finish and will include first aid facilities, toilets, bag drop, sports massage plus other facilities ‘to be announced.’ The route is on closed roads with rolling re-openings, which necessitates a 7hour race cut-off. Organiser’s boast that crowd support is superb at the Potteries Marathon with everything from music to cooling hosepipes designed to keep competitors going the distance.
Medals and t-shirts for all and entry set at £35 affiliated and £37 unaffiliated. Further details of the Potteries Marathon, and online entry, at rungbr.com
