Looks like the Brutal Beast has it all (including an awesome name), with a range of distances on offer covering 50, 100 or 200miles to appeal to those new to ultra and those looking to properly stretch their legs.
Based at the foot of Cadair Idris in Wales all Brutal Beast distances offer a ‘super tough’, multi-lap course with 1184ft of climb per lap, and has an ‘exciting’ mix of terrain, from mountain sections, forest paths, road and trail. Organisers also promise that the event is ideal for the ‘navigationally challenged’ ultra runner, as the course will be clearly signed. All you have to do is run (and run…) Feed stations every 4-7miles offer Science Fitness products, bananas, biscuits, jelly babies, water, coke and cake. Nice.
Entry for the Brutal Beast is £70 for the 50miler, £95 for the 100 and £165 for the full-on 200miler. Details, including of course the various start times across the weekend, at brutalevents.co.uk
