Hardmoors 30 – January 1, 2016
How’s this for a start to your new year? The Hardmoors 30, part of the Hardmoors Ultra series, takes place on January 1 with a 30(ish) mile loop around Whitby, including Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar, and Cloughton. The route is a circular following the old railway lines north between Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby before heading southwards along the Cleveland Way to Robin Hoods Bay and then rejoining the old Railway lines passing through Ravenscar along the way to Hayburn Wyke. Leaving Hayburn Wyke the route heads northwards along the Cleveland Way back to Robin Hood’s Bay with a slight ‘sting in the tail’ for the last hundred or so metres. Nice…
Obviously this is mid-winter (and Yorkshire) so conditions can be challenging to say the least, but if you’re looking for a great start to 2016 this could well be it.
Race briefing starts at 08.45 for a 9am start with the Hardmoors 30 requiring a sub-9hour finish. Medal and T for all finishers, plus the glowing sense of satisfaction in having started your running year just right. Entry fee is £35 with full details of the Hardmoors 30 at hardmoors110.org.uk
