Red Bull 400 Whistler
Red Bull 400 Whistler – July 19, 2015
400m sounds pretty easy for a race, yes? Meet the Red Bull 400 making its debut in Canada on July 19 at the Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley. The event tests both speed and endurance with runners facing 400 vertical metres of gain from the bottom of the ski jump, straight to the top and categories for full-distance, co-ed relay (4x100m), and a dedicated relay race for fire-fighters, police and EMS (4x100m.)
Surrounded by breath-taking mountain ranges, and no stranger to athletic competition, Whistler Olympic Park has a history of glory and gold. In 2010, one-third of all Olympic Winter Games medals were awarded at the venue. Today, it remains an active centre for world-class competitors while preserving the winter legacy for the enjoyment of the local community and visitors. All runners will be tested with a qualifying race to place them in final heats. From the qualifiers, the fastest athletes will move forward to the finals for full distance.
Do you have what it takes?
Entry fees for the Red Bull 400 Whistler are set at solo $40, and both co-ed relay and fire-fighters, police and EMS at $25per-person ($100 total.) Full details at redbull.com
