Birmingham and Black Country Half-Marathon
Birmingham and Black Country Half-Marathon – July 4, 2015
Starting at the British Waterways Canal Dock in Wolverhampton and finishing at Brindley Place, Birmingham the Birmingham and Black Country Half-Marathon offers a basically flat route following the towpath alongside the canals that connect the two Cities. Arguably, say the organisers, it is a downhill route with the only ‘lumps’ being the locks and bridges that cross intersections, which get more frequent towards the latter stages of the run, making it perhaps a little tougher than it may seem.
The 360 yard long tunnel at Coseley is a unique feature enjoyed by some, hated by others but remembered by all. Completely off road and traffic free the Birmingham and Black Country Half-Marathon features frequent drink stations – most of them ‘floating’ for extra novelty.
Goody bags and medals for all finishers with entry at £18 for affiliated runners and £20 unaffiliated.
