With a spectacular stadium start and finish and a relatively flat course that winds its way through both the old town and wider city the Warsaw Marathon is perhaps on of Europe’s best kept secrets.
Now in its 37th year and host to some 7,000 runners the Warsaw Marathon is exceptionally slick in its organisation with pacers, frequent water stations, almost constant crowd-support and a huge number of ‘entertainment stations’ with everything from military bands to disco dancers. Add to this the fact that Poland is an incredibly inexpensive country to visit and a weekend of running in Warsaw is a proposition which really adds up.
