Country to Capital Ultra 2015

Go Beyond UltraCountry to Capital Ultra – January 17, 2015

One of the best UK season openers for distance running, the Country to Capital Ultra, organised by Go Beyond Ultra is a 45mile run of country trails and towpath from the Shoulder of Mutton Pub in Wendover in Buckinghamshire to Little Venice in London.

An attractive run (even once within the M25), it offers beautiful mid-winter scenery and a fast and flat Grand Union Canal towpath final section. The fairly generous 11-hour cut off should make the Country to Capital ‘doable’ for most and five checkpoints along the route serving up water, Gu energy gels, Jelly Babies and the now famous Go Beyond Cake makes it just that little easier.

Medals and tech apparel for all finishers, bag transfer to the finish point and, if all that weren’t enough, you score a nice point towards the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB). Entry fee is £47.50 with options for free charity places. For further details of the Country to Capital Ultra and all entry options see gobeyondultra.co.uk
