The ACC in Pictures

The Atlantic Coast Challenge – known colloquially as the ACC – pits runners against some of the toughest coastal trail routes in England. Over three days the foolhardy and just plain foolish tackle a marathon a day to run, walk and crawl from Mackerel Cove, a few miles west of Padstow, to Land’s End where glory and a hot Cornish pasty await. Ahead of RunningMonkey’s main race report we thought a few of the highlight pictures from the ACC might me in order…

Don’t be fooled, little of the ACC is this flat.

Each day has anything up to a mile of vertical climb.

Incredibly many keep smiling (possibly the relief of reaching another summit.)

Did we mention steps? Lots and lots of steps…

The utterly inspirational Rob Young – MarathonManUK – making it look easy even when it wasn’t.

If rocks, trails, dunes and steps aren’t enough the ACC has miles of beach to cover too.

The ACC is organised by Votwo further details at votwo.co.uk RunningMonkey’s race report coming soon…
