The Ladybower 50 route is one of the best runs in the Derbyshire area, extremely popular with runners, cyclists and walkers alike and comprising two and a half laps of the Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs. Marshalled and signed and a mixture of trail, track and a small section of country road (little used) this stunning 50miler (actually 50.9miles, but who’s counting) is mainly flat, making for some potentially fast times.
For safety reasons there will be a cut off time for the Ladybower 50 of 13hours and aid stations will be found at miles 5, 20 and 35. The weather in the Peak District is unpredictable and changeable – to say the least – so good preparation with kit is essential and although trail shoes are not compulsory, occasionally muddy conditions make them a wise choice.
