Rat Race Man vs Mountain
‘Brutal but beautiful’ is how Rat Race describe their 20mile epic Man vs Mountain and with the mountain in question being Snowdon there’s no need for RunningMonkey to disagree.
The 2013 Rat Race Man vs Mountain saw 400 brave runners tackle the mountainous run to the summit of Snowdon and back down; tackling an array of punishing obstacles in Dinorwic Quarry, including the Merrell “All Out” Vertical Kilometre, an abseil and a stream of water based challenges. Starting at Caernarfon Castle the route heads into the foothill and then up to the summit of Snowdon before the really hard work even begins…
Prices and packages vary (based on current availability) but expect to pay between £120 and £149 for a solo entry and £110 and £139 per person for teams of 10. Whilst the price seems as high as Snowdon itself, there’s always plenty of extras on offer with a Rat Race event and amongst other things at Rat Race Man vs Mountain you’ll be able to enjoy one of their notorious post-race parties.
If you really want to throw yourself into the festival-like atmosphere (i.e. enjoy the mud) there is a reduced rate camping offer of just £4 per person per night at the Mountain Farm Campsite on offer too.
