New Forest 10
The New Forest 10 (that’s 10miles not kilometres) has grown to become something on an institution on the British summer race calendar. Staged out of New Park Farm, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, the single loop course through the heart of the gorgeous New Forest is fast and (mostly) flat with excellent marshalling and support.
Despite having grown in popularity over the year’s the event remains commendably low-key but with a range of entertainment generally on offer for those remaining at the start/finish area and a half-mile race for under 10s (50p entry on the day) and a 1mile race for under 14s (£1 on the day.)
Race entry for the New Forest 10 itself (absolutely no entries on the day) is a ridiculously reasonable £12 for affiliated runners and £14 for non-affiliated. The finisher’s trophy is a rather unusual horse brass instead of the usual medal – a nice touch, which typifies this great British 10miler.
