The Pilgrim Challenge is a two-day out and back stage ultra covering 66 miles along the North Downs Way, once trodden by pilgrims heading for Canterbury and travellers bound for Dover and the Continent. The route, devised and recced by Race Director Neil Thubron, takes runners from Farnham to Merstham, Surrey on day one, with he return leg on day two brining you back to the start. The entry fee of £125 (rising to £135 after the end of December) includes basic overnight accommodation at St Nicholas School hall, Merstham, plus evening meal and breakfast. Those looking for extra inspiration will be entertained on the Saturday evening by UTMB veteran and Alpine trail-running expert Andy Mouncey with his presentation ‘Ultra Running made Ultra Simple’ – and if the UTMB has really grabbed your attention finishers (of the race not the presentation) will be awarded two UTMB qualifying points.
